Ramblings of Team Glen
Day 1:
Syndra offers a contract on behalf of the Balduran Geographic Society, everyone signs, Glen is appointed as captian, The party stays in an inn called the captain's daughter where the party is taken up in the cause to find candance, Froig kisses a man, Herna fights a rat in his room and finds the talisman in an upturned floorboard. The party also meets Bolivar and Karam for the first time.
Day 2:
The party stocks up on random stuff, Hernan buys a silver dagger, The party alomost causes a scene at the market after provoking an elderly woman, team glen is chanted by an old man who is excited to see someone trying to end the death curse. Te party embarks on the shearwater the next day and bolivar shows off...chops a haliard and is telported to his ship "the castilla"
Day 3:
The party sets out on the shearwater and meets the crew,after several attacks by sahuagin, and froig loses her armor after jumping in the ocean, the ship is crippled and left to float in the ocean as night falls. WHen the party is confronted by a dragon turtle the crew pay tribute finally satisfying it with the addition of mithril armor smuggled aboard by first mate Worsley. They also convinve Miku (a sworn enemy of Aremag) to not attack Aremag and jeopardize everyone's life. THe crew also take in a random castaway goblin named glerel who convinces them to spare his life (although he is outed as a pirate), by offerring him his hand cannon (pistol). find smuggled mithril in steerage, Fight Sahuagin, Lose rudder, Hoo hey how, ships disappear in the night.
Day 4:
More sahuagin, bottle cap in Miku's eye, healing, Turtle Necklace, Aremag, offer mithril, talk Miku out of attacking, Rest
Day 5:
The crew finally make it to shore and try to convine the crew of the shearwater to pay them for protectign them during the voyage. Despite their rudeness Captain Koogah agrees to help them if she can. Worsely tells them to meet him tonight at the thundering lizard inn. Afterward they insult Zindar by demanding money as well. Eventually the crew apologize to Zindar and learn of the Day of Chult celebrations to be held today and tomorrow.
The crew goes shoppign and procures a few rain catchers, a series of vials filled with dinosaur pheremones, insect repellant, and some guide books. Froig tries to find a new chain shirt since his was lost overboard when fighting sahuagin. As a form of barter Froig flashes the merchant who is horrified. After leaving the party, they are caught in a parade where many of the merchant princes show off their power and wealth. The crew also meets Jessamine who offers them a spot in the race tomorrow. Before the day ends Froig heads to the crafting guild and convinces a fellow dwarf to make her new armor and to make Glenn sahuagin tooth gaultlet sin echange for a date. At the end of the day the crew meet at the thundering lizard where Worlsey tells them they have arranged for them to race with a dinosaur belonging to a friend of his. Denya is contacted by a member of the Ytepka society which holds a secret meeting with her and glerel explaining a complicated plan in which a team breask into the temple of Wuakeen, covers the gold in food. Denya agrees and the plan goes off without a hitch.
Arrival in Chult , Meet Zindar, Apologize to Zindar , Froigs peen , Parade , Jessamine's villa, Jessamine offers banana candy for gorra to ride. Shopping, buy books, water catchers, repellant, backpack, Froig exchanges date for knuckles and chainmail, Denya approached by Mwizi, setup the dino-poop plot with Ytepka Society, Worsley offers baby allosaurus for Hernan to ride, sleep at the thundering lizard
Day 6:
The next day is race day and Hernane mounts the yougn allosaurus whcih worlsey let him ride. Gorra rides a hadrosaurus racing for Jessmine, and Denya rides a dimetrodon for the Ytepka society. Although competition is fierce hernan proves to be an excellent jockey riding his mount skillfully in nearly every race section. Gorra performed admirably ultimately securing 4th place. Denya was really only there to help the second phase of the ytepka plans. She asissted the creation of false walls and in making invisible the walls of the temple of wuakeen. When the dinosaurs broke into the temple and the food was covered in delicious food the dinosaurs ate the food and gold alike. Laxatives diseminated the gold throughout the city as the dinosaurs were forced to cotinue racing by their jockeys. During the rae Froig is on a date with the crafting dwarf which goes fairly well. Bolivar appears int he stands. Hernan comes in first place
Dinosaur pens early in the morning to pick up Hernan allosaurus (bertha). Dinosaur race. Denya acting in concert with Ytepka society helps to execute dino-poop plot spreading the gold within the temple to wuakeen throughout the city via dinosaur poop. Hernan:1, Gorra: 3, Denya: 4
An award ceremony is held in which hernan receives the cermonial key to Port Nyanzaru, and the champions collar, (both of these items bestow mechanical benefits), and 500 gold. Gorra receives a non-descript opaque rock of volcanic glass. A massive afterparty is held in celebration of the Day of Chult but alos to honor the winners of the dinosaur races. The party attend and quickly split to do different things. hrough out the party are commoners, guards, strnag emen dressed in black robes, and members of the Ytepka society. Froig drinks some interesting drinks and gorra drinks some even more interestign fdrinks (amphetamines). Denya plays Hoo Hey How with strange men. and Hernan dances his heart out. Glen dances a bit as well. THe men in black robes ask to speak with Hernan privately and accuse him of cheatign fduring the race and plannign the shady business invovling the temple of wuakeen. When Hernan offers nothgin of value hte black robed men leave them alone but in a sour mood. Meanwhile Denya is told she can't leave the table until only one man is left standing. THe rest of the crew goes back to danincg but Froig enters the smokign room where she speaks to aracocra which tell her of the firefinger filled with Pterafolk and kir sabal where it is said aracockra live freely and some importan CHultans may live. While the crew is distracted Denya finally loses a hand but instead of walkign away she is quickly shot down by crossbow bolts.Award ceremony, Hernan: Mkufu of Chult, Key to Nyanzaru, 500 Gold, Gorra: Eye of Ubtao, 300 gold. Afterparty: drinking narcotic cocktails, smoking jungle fern, meet Azaka Stormfang hanging out with arakockra, Denya plays Hoo Hey How with princes and men in black robes. Black robes interrogate Hernan, glen, and Gorra asking about the incident at the dinosaur race. Azaka agrees to join the party as their guide. Denya is shot down at the gambling table before anyone realizes she is gone.
Ytepka agent (Mwizi) tells them that the black robes are agents of the Princes known as the Prince's hand (the claw). They must break Denya out of jail.
Denya is interrogated by members of the hand, Glerel is one of them undercover. Glerel kills hand member.
Enter the sewers via secret passage in thundering lizard basement to free denya. gora and froig fight random thugs. Mwizi, hernan, and glen climb into Wuakeen bathroom, kill a man on the toilet. Meet up with denya and Glerel. Kill another man on break. Escape back through sewers.
Leave through western gate, meet up with Azaka and Bertha.
Party heads down the Tyriki river into the jungle. Thier time on the canoes totals around 3 hours. They arrive at Azaka's hut and are greeted by a roaring giralon
Giralon turns out to be azaka's friend "Steven", a massive but gentle giralon with an arrow in his leg. The party removes the arrow and beds down to rest
Day 7:
In the wee hours of the morning the party members on watch see Bolivar and one of his men crash into the camp in hysterics shouting about "Le Phantom". Soon after several yuan-ti attack. Two Yuan-Ti malisons are killed after they attack quite boldly (when they are killed spectral snakes slither away from their corpses) . But another mysterious humanoid stalks the forest and fires arrows exclusively at Bolivar. While the party busily fights the Yuan-Ti and a large displacer serpent the mysterious figure fires two arrows into Bolivar and disappears with the displacer serpent as quickly as it came. Azaaka and Hernan give chase and follow the tracks to the edge of a Gully filled with a Blueish mist. Hernan and Azaaka enter the mist but encounter a large river that they are reticent to cross without the rest of the group. Froig, Denya, Glen and Gorra follow Hernan and Azaaka until they reach the mist where Gorra and Glen decide to return to the hut. Denya and Froig continue on and intercept Hernana nd Azaaka but deicde to return to the hut anyway. Both Froig and Hernan contract mad monkey fever from the mist: Hernan's symptoms make him paranoid about Bertha and last 100 hours Froig's symptoms make her fall into a confused state whenever she takes damage and last 30 hours.
Glen diagnoses the unconcious Bolivar and his friend (Jean-Claude) as having been poisoned by snake venom and successfully creates an anti-venom from the venom glands of one of the slain creatures' bodies. However, Glen is only able to administer the anti-venom to Bolivar successfully and Jean-Claude is left untreated. While Bolivar and Jean-Claude remain uncioius Denya rifle's through their pockets and steals some money and some golden snake eggs. When Bolivar awaknes the party then pumps him for information from which they learn that Karan abandoned Bolivar's group very quickly upon entering the jungle and they have been hunted by Le Phantom since they're departure. Bolivar refuses to re-enter the jungle preferring to take his chances on the Tyriki alone with the unconcious Jean-Claude on a trip back to Nyanzaru.
The party begins to realize how much anger is in their hearts even in the face of a pathetic Bolivar and offer what they can spare in a few days rations, water, and some kind words.
The Party then starts back upon the Tyriki River when they encounter a pterfolki falling from the sky and plunging into the river just ahead of their canoes. They are reluctant to grab the Pterafolk and watch as it is eaten whole by a large crocodile. The crocodile threatens them so they try to scare it away with a combination of an illusion spell and bertha's roar. They believe they are successful but as they begin their journey anew an even larger crocodile rears out of the river and attacks their canoes.
in a desperate battle to return to the shore Glen, Gorra, and Azaaka reach the banks but Froig, Denya and Glerel are knocked out of their canoe before reaching shore. Denya and Glerel are able to grab onto a rope thrown by Gorra but Froig is grappled by the crocodile and suffers a bout of confusion from her neurological symptom associated with and monkey fever. Azaaka Paddles out to try and Help Froig.
Froig's leg is torn from his body and Froig begins to sink to the bottom of the river unconscious and dying. Gorra leaps into the river and swims over to the monster as does Hernan who clambers on the beasts back. Denya casts an illusion of a dragon which starteds the caiman propmting it to retreat under the water. Glen also leaps into the water but uses his monk training to move at blinding speed. He reaches the Caiman in seconds and delivers a furious onslaught of sword slashes and unarmed strikes landing several critical hits. Finally he lands a final killing blow to the snout of the creature.
Froig is rescued from the river and wakes to find his leg missing. The canoes is hauled up from the bottom of the river and the caiman's corpse is raided for a few small items, a yklwa, a potion of minor healing, and the body of the fallen pterafolk.
Bertha has left the area she was left and has wandered over to a patch of meaty smellgin fruits. Hernan allows her to eat many of them and tries one himself. Upon returnign to the party Bertha experiences extreme gastrointenstinal distrress and the party discovers that the fruit is the larval stage of a monster known as a jungle roper. The mother is likley to be nearby and may track the pary down if they do not flee. However, Bertha's distress causes a noxious cloud of odor to cause nasusea amongst gorra, denya, and hernan.
After a few hours work Azaaka is able to repair the canoe and the party heads upriver a bit more to leave the immedeate area. Upon finding a clearing they setup camp and post watches.
In the night a solitary Zorbo runs at denya and gorra. After tackling the little creature and havign it deliver several painfl blows to itself. Gorra casts speak with animals and learns that the creature is hungry for metal. Gorra eventually finds a file in her inventory and throws it into the forest. The Zorbo follows and does not return to camp.
Day 8:
Players spend some time carving a new wooden leg for froig and discover that her wound has not healed perfectly. They then begin their journey down the river for 20 miles (2 hexes) until they reach a waterfall which forces them to Portage around. The players encounter two young pterafolk which beseech then to take an alternate route to help then find their mother. Azaaka wants nothing to do with the pterafolk but eventually begrudgingly follows them in their alternate route. The players move inland a bit and enter a boggy area where they are attacked by disembodied hands, zombie goblins, and a zombie ankylosaurus. Eventually the young pterafolks mother emerged from the mud with her hands and feet severed and having been transformed to a zombie. She is killed by gorra but manages to say the name of one of her children before she and her child are crushed by the ankylosaurus in its death throes. One child still remains but is left unconscious.
Day 9:
By the morning glen comes down with a terrible diahareal diesease and is too weak to help carry canoes or fight. The child pterafolk Sqork is healed but is still quite frail and shaken after the ordeal. The party continues on its route around the waterfall until they reach a large carved stone. Eventually they discover that tracing the path of the largest swirling marking activates an ancient magic that slides the stone downward. In the darkness wait a group of 9 dwarves arms and dangerous. Froig is the only one that can see the dwarves and attempts to surrender and tells the others to do the same. Hernan draws his swords and gorra charges into the cave but both are quickly subdued with poisoned darts and many nets.
After the Dwarves neutralize any threats the chief BOOMBOOM comes forward to speak to Froig.
eventually the party is brought into the halls of Naladum (river halls) the hill home of the chultan dwarves. The party is invited into the city to rest but must wear blindfolds. They are known for their ability to carve stone and wood equally well and many wooden goods abound.
Day 10:
Hernan finds an old Dwarven shaman and herbalist and learns that his small swirling artifact is an explosive magical device similar to a grenade. And that the bead collar he won for the dinosaur race allows him to calm any dinosaur.
The team also buys 2 healing potions, a sells an old gem from the chultan parade,
Day 11:
On the recommendation of the Chultan Dwarves the players head toward the firefinger in search of an old Treant named Baba Mosswood that lives in the area. They make contact with the Ent by yelling in elvish. The Treant offers to provide a new leg made from a special wood that he will provide but only if the heroes destroy the firefinger and the ones who inhabit it. The inhabitants in the firefinger have historically all been bad for the surrounding forest and the Treant would like to see them gone. The players plead for the heartwood now so Froig can have an easier time taking the firefinger but Mosswood refuses to relent. Mainly because the heart wood will literally come from his core, killing him in the process.

They then begin their journey down the river for 20 miles (2 hexes) until they reach a waterfall which forces them to Portage around. The players encounter two young pterafolk which beseech then to take an alternate route to help then find their mother. Azaaka wants nothing to do with the pterafolk but eventually begrudgingly follows them in their alternate route. The players move inland a bit and enter a boggy area where they are attacked by disembodied hands, zombie goblins, and a zombie ankylosaurus. Eventually the young pterafolks mother emerged from the mud with her hands and feet severed and having been transformed to a zombie. She is killed by gorra but manages to say the name of one of her children before she and her child are crushed by the ankylosaurus in its death throes. One child still remains but is left unconscious.
Day 9:
By the morning glen comes down with a terrible diahareal diesease and is too weak to help carry canoes or fight. The child pterafolk Sqork is healed but is still quite frail and shaken after the ordeal. The party continues on its route around the waterfall until they reach a large carved stone. Eventually they discover that tracing the path of the largest swirling marking activates an ancient magic that slides the stone downward. In the darkness wait a group of 9 dwarves arms and dangerous. Froig is the only one that can see the dwarves and attempts to surrender and tells the others to do the same. Hernan draws his swords and gorra charges into the cave but both are quickly subdued with poisoned darts and many nets.
After the Dwarves neutralize any threats the chief BOOMBOOM comes forward to speak to Froig.
eventually the party is brought into the halls of Naladum (river halls) the hill home of the chultan dwarves. The party is invited into the city to rest but must wear blindfolds. They are known for their ability to carve stone and wood equally well and many wooden goods abound.
Day 10:
Hernan finds an old Dwarven shaman and herbalist and learns that his small swirling artifact is an explosive magical device similar to a grenade. And that the bead collar he won for the dinosaur race allows him to calm any dinosaur.
The team also buys 2 healing potions, a sells an old gem from the chultan parade,
Day 11:
On the recommendation of the Chultan Dwarves the players head toward the firefinger in search of an old Treant named Baba Mosswood that lives in the area. They make contact with the Ent by yelling in elvish. The Treant offers to provide a new leg made from a special wood that he will provide but only if the heroes destroy the firefinger and the ones who inhabit it. The inhabitants in the firefinger have historically all been bad for the surrounding forest and the Treant would like to see them gone. The players plead for the heartwood now so Froig can have an easier time taking the firefinger but Mosswood refuses to relent. Mainly because the heart wood will literally come from his core, killing him in the process.
